New remixes of Pride Classics?

Hey guys,

About to DJ a big party here in Los Angeles for Pride this weekend. Always looking for new mixes of Pride-related tracks. Even if it's not a new mix, but still is solid, can you suggest it? I prefer the original artists if possible.

Looking for good, energetic mixes for:

-- WE ARE FAMILY - SISTER SLEDGE
(I've made an edit of the Andrea Mendoza vs. Tibet - Gospel mix - which I've been using for years but would like some more options. The T-Puss mix is just "ok."

-- BORN THIS WAY - LADY GAGA
(any new takes or mashes you like?)

-- FREE - ULTRA NATE
(still play the original, or the newer Samuele Sartini mix)

-- YOU MAKE ME FEEL - SYLVESTER
(Got the newer Ralphi mixes -- pretty good -- just would like more options.)

-- PRIDE (A DEEPER LOVE) - ARETHA
(Been using the Jack 'n Daniels mix - def want something better)

-- I'M COMING OUT - DIANA ROSS
(I usually speed up the slower Almighty version of this - sure I'm missing some other good options.)

-- FREEDOM - GEORGE MICHAEL
(have no mixes of this)

-- CHER - BELIEVE
(Still using the Almighty - have to slow it down usually. Anything else?)

-- I WILL SURIVE - GLORIA GAYNOR
(Been using the Rodeofunk for a while now. What am I missing?)

-- VOGUE - MADONNA
(Use the Rihanna cover/Halquist Reconstruction mix or the 'House of Brucken' mix - would love more options.)

-- DANCING QUEEN - ABBA
(Only really play the 12" - what am I missing? I'm also open to other good Abba Pride songs/mixes.)

-- LAST DANCE - DONNA SUMMER
(Been using the Ultimix on this since I usually don't end with it lol. What else?)

-- YMCA - VILLAGE PEOPLE
(honestly I haven't played this before... but... at the right time and with a good mix...)

-- IT'S RAINING MEN - WEATHER GIRLS
(Been using the Young Divas cover if I have to. Wish I had a good mix.)

-- SHOW ME LOVE - ROBIN S.
(not exactly Gay Pride but ... would love a beefy and good mix of this.)

-- PROUD - HEATHER SMALL
(There's always the Illicit or Josh Harris' more recent version - am I missing anything?)

-- GET HAPPY - JUDY GARLAND
(a request for a friend - in case there's a decent mix of this lol.)

Did I miss anything? Let me know!

THANKS IN ADVANCE GUYS!!!

It's not a classic but it is a Pride song with a great remix package. David James Boyd "Pride Is The Word" https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/pride-is-the-word-remixes/id533832...

And of course my mix of "Free to Love" by BetBoyz ft. Robbyne Kaamil (shameless plug) https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/free-to-love-equality-project/id34...

ULTRA NATE - FEREE (SIDECHAINS REMIX)

GORGEOUS French-house style production featuring dreamy synths and a brilliant restructuring of the song that always gets all the hands in the air and all the gay voices singing at the top of their lungs. Here's an edit:

MADONNA - VOGUE (ROBIN SKOUTERIS 'BARBRA STREISAND' MASHUP)

I'm pretty selective about playing mash-ups at the club, but this one gets it just right. The full vocals from "Vogue" are included, as well as an amped up sampling of Duck Sauce. One of those rare mashups where both songs are equally represented and simultaneously elevated when brought together.

YOU MAKE ME FEEL (MIGHTY REAL)

Of the new 2013 Sylvester mixes, the one by Jewels & Stone is the best (http://youtu.be/C964uaaHN5Y). But I'm partial to the recent cover version by Frankie Knuckles ft. B. Slade - and I'm even pickier about playing covers than I am about mash-ups. Both remixes (Director's Cut, DJ Meme) are classic-house sounding dance floor twirlers, and the vocal is close enough to Sylvester's not to be distracting. A few minutes of both mixes of the Knuckles version can be heard here::

CHER - BELIEVE (DJ ZAX VS. DEADMAU5 'BELIEVE IN GHOSTS' MIX)

Very cool update made by a good friend of mine. Let me know if you want a copy.

For the Ultra, try out the Tomcat DMC mix by Paul Goodyear.

For "A Deeper Love", I could suggest the original Clivilles & Cole with the Deborah Cooper vocals. An oldie but a goodie.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtmioubRtlc

Or the Bad Yard Club one of the Aretha
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUX28WGTReY

For "YMCA", this Dave Armstrong bootleg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9Lq1kxRqFQ

For "It's Raining Me", how about the Geri Halliwell cover remixed by Almighty
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3e8yhnmNCHk

Razor & Guido's revamping of this classic track is also quite
stellar.

Martha Wash - It's Raining Men (Almighty Definitive Mix) 7:51

is my personal fave "raining men" mix.. I think Almighty also did another mix with Martha and RuPaul but if I remember it's not very good.

The Raining Men sequel did have an amazing mix by Dillon & D!ckins. In that same vein, their mix of Ready For A New Day is excellent too. That could be kind of pride-y, I suppose.

Gloria Gaynor "I Will Survive"
1.(The Shep Pettibone Disco Attack)
2.(The Shep Pettibone Club Attack)
3.(Shep's Accapella & String Mix)
Remixed by Shep w/ Peter Rauhofer as Executive Producer,
especially considering there are new reduxes for this classic
track.

As for "We Are Family", I still go with Thunderpuss' fabulous banging club mix done for We Are Family Foundation version
with Diana Ross, Luther etc..

There was a cute disco-ish remix by Love to Infinity on what of thier 90's issues. I don't have a copy anymore, but maybe someone here does?

I have a CD rip wav of this somewhere, drop me an email - and yes this was my FAVORITE remix of "It's Raining Men - The Sequel" cuz I think LTI included some extra ad lib vocals that none of the other remixers did. Like you can hear RuPaul mumbling these random phrases like "I'll be there at 9" and "I can testify!" and "I'm gonna turn my umbrella upside down!" which is SO CUTE!!!

I've always gone with the Motiv8 remix of Diana Ross' cover version - it just CANNOT be beat for cheesiness and hi-NRG factor. Nice & fast and perfect cold intro too - HIGHLY recommended!

Every year I do a little something for the opening ceremony of Pride over here.
Last year I did a remix/medley/mashup thing of Let There Be Love/I Feel Love (Christina Aguilera/Donna Summer) with some elements from Keeps Gettin' Better and a moving speech from her about bullying that people seemed to like and serve as a perfect opening/mood setting thing.
If you're interested I can PM it to you.

There's a ridiculous White Label remix of Belinda Carlisle's "Live Your Life Be Free" that is essential. (I'm sure someone on here knows who remixed it). (it's got to be at least 10 years old)

You don't mean that awful Live Element "Be Free" rubbish do you? I was puzzled when that first came out, why they took one isolated phrase of her vocals, looped it over and over 800 times in a row, and called it finished. Why not just remix the whole bloody song already? Then gradually I started to realize this is actually a "thing" where remixers or producers will do these ill-advised hatchet-jobs on purpose (!) like with Call On Me, Star To Fall, Take Me To The Clouds Above, and other unfinished-sounding travesties.

"Iím not the kind of person that lives for fame and glory. If Iíve got a nice clean home and can put a meal on my table and can entertain my friends, Iím fine. I donít need to see my face plastered everywhere."
