Cher Thinks Her Music is 'crap' and she hates her hit "Believe"

Cher has described her 1990's music as crap and especially hates "Believe":

It's too bad that she doesn't care for Itís A Manís World. I have always thought that was one of her best ones. Though I could see why she doesn't like it as much because it's a covers album.

I loved her Believe album as well.

Oh well. Nearly all artists have songs and albums that they don't like as much.

If she wasn't/isn't a fan of the songs she mentioned, why did she release them??? I can see that early in her career, she probably didn't have much of a say in what was released but by 1990, I think she was probably successful enough that if she didn't like the material, it didn't get released. I hope she's just going through a phase right now and starts to appreciate her music a little more like so many of her fans do. "Believe" is easily one of the top 10 best Dance/Pop songs ever. She should be proud of herself for that accomplishment.

Current Favorite Song: Clean Bandit feat. Demi Lovato - "Solo"

Flashback Favorite: Babyface & Toni Braxton - "Give U My Heart"(Extended Mix)

Billboard Music Awards Last Night

And why continue to sing it.. because last night at the Billboard Music Awards Cher sang "Believe" (the song she hates) and "If I Could Turn Back Time" (the song she likes) self contradictory... LOL!

And speaking of Cher songs through the decades, I always wished
her classic duet with Peter Cetera "Chances Are" would have
received a dance remix treatment. Even the countless dance
remakes done over the years by Almighty, Klone, Saifam etc.. never had this gem remixed.

The song was titled "After All" and the movie was called "Chances Are" whose soundtrack it was from. I faintly remember one of the times I saw Cher in concert (years ago) she sang this song and introduced one of her backup singers to harmonize the part of "what's his name" (she couldn't remember the name of Peter Cetera) lol

Dark Lady "Forever Cher" 2xCD (Keith Haarmeyer rmxs)

Remember remixer Keith Haarmeyer's epic mix for Mad Doll's "Walk On By" (Dionne Warwick dance remake)?, Well, speaking of Cher's classics over the years and remakes - Keith Haarmeyer does a great job revamping some her gems for this fab dance
cover 2xCD compilation:

Dark Lady "Forever Cher"
1."Walking In Memphis"
2."All Or Nothing"
3."If I Could Turn Back In Time"
4."Song For The Lonely"
5."Bang Bang"
6."Strong Enough"
7."Dark Lady"
8."A Different Kind Of Love Song"
9."Half Breed"
10."Love One Another"
11."I Found Someone"
12."One By One"
13."Love & Understanding"
14."Believe"
15."Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss)"

As expected production wise Haarmeyer does a fab job, especially
for the tracks that never ever received a proper dance treatment
like "Half Breed" and "Dark Lady" two of my faves. As mentioned
above (and corrected by DJMichaelAngelo) I really wished the
classic ballad "After All" would have gotten a dance redux. The
same label also released a fab remix of "Just Like Jessie James"
on a separate CD compilation ("Forever Divas") worth seeking.
Finally, Tracy Young young also did a harder and darker remake
of "Bang Bang" which also quite good!

you convinced me PAJ *lol* I just ordered a copy of this 2CD set from Shamazon - I always love a good cheesy dance remake, and this sounds like a fun bunch of hi-NRG jolly times

Glad to hear! Suprisingly, even die hard Cher fanatics that I know were pleasantly elated when this was released back in the day thanks to the cool polished euphoric productions by seasoned remixer Keith Haarmeyer who strips away the cheese factor added with the uncanny vocal nuances that sound like Cher, overall a stellar release. The most *atrocious* Cher remake Ep I've come across and one to avoid (production & vocal wise) is this one:

"Cheresque" Ep Cd5
1."Believe"
2."Strong Enough"
3."If I Could Turn Back Time"
4."I Got You Babe"
5.(acapellas)

DB "Take Me Home"

Speaking of Cher, her early 1979 disco track "Take Me Home" has
always been one my faves and I always wished for a proper euphoric club banging redux. I know Sophie Ellis Bextor did a
remake (Sharp Club Vocal Mix), but I finally stumbled upon a fab
mix that does a great job capturing the essence of the original
but at that same time giving the proper tribal disco revamping:
